NovaBid is a reverse marketplace for business hotel stays. A company posts a trip, independent hotels send private offers, the company books and pays up front, and the confirmed, paid reservation appears in the hotel's Mews automatically, with the payment already posted on the guest account.
NovaBid serves small and mid-sized businesses that book hotel stays, meetings and team away days, and the independent hotels that want that demand without paying for visibility.
Instead of searching published rates, the business describes the trip once (dates, guests, budget, what it needs) and hotels respond with private offers. The business compares them side by side and pays the chosen hotel in full at booking through Stripe. Hotels are paid at the moment of booking, in their bank within 7 days, and pay no listing fee or subscription; NovaBid's commission is on completed bookings only.
How the integration works with Mews: when a booking confirms, NovaBid creates one reservation per guest room in the property's Mews through the Connector API, at the agreed nightly price (TimeUnitAmount), with the guest's name and a note stating the stay is prepaid.
In the same step it records the pre-payment as an external payment against each reservation, so the guest folio balances to zero and the front desk never keys a NovaBid booking or chases a payment. If the booking is cancelled on NovaBid, the reservation is cancelled in Mews.
Property setup is a one-time mapping of the reservable service, room categories and a rate; there is no polling, and the property's own pricing and availability are never changed.
NovaBid is built in Edinburgh, Scotland, and launches with independent Edinburgh hotels and serviced-apartment operators, many of which run on Mews.
