Sustainability

Hospitality is meaningless on an inhospitable planet

From measuring emissions to partnering with climate-focused organizations, we care about building a low-carbon future for hospitality.

Measuring our impact. We completed our first carbon footprint in 2024 using Watershed, establishing a baseline to understand where our emissions come from. We're now measuring annually, building the data foundation we need to track progress and identify where we can make the biggest difference.

Building transparency. We're developing our first sustainability report for publication in 2026. This voluntary commitment to transparency will give our stakeholders clear visibility into our environmental performance as we prepare for future regulatory requirements.

Setting targets. With two years of carbon data, we'll set emissions reduction targets informed by climate science. We're taking time to understand our actual levers for change & focusing on meaningful action.

Through our longstanding partnership with Hotels for Trees, we've enabled Mews customers to plant over 200,000 trees. Hotels can offer guests the option to skip room cleaning in exchange for a tree planted — turning everyday hotel operations into reforestation action.

Social Impact

Making an impact means showing up, for everyone

We support communities around the world through nonprofit partnerships, disaster relief and a growing social impact strategy. Our goal is to help build a more equitable, resilient world – especially for those facing displacement, poverty or crisis.

Partnership with KLABU to support refugees through sport and community. Mews is the lead partner for KLABU's Boa Vista Spirit clubhouse in Brazil, supporting over 1,000 Venezuelan refugees through access to sport, creativity, and belonging.

Disaster Relief Fund: to provide emergency support in times of crisis. In 2025, Mewsers committed €50,000 to humanitarian crises through an employee-led committee, responding rapidly to displacement and disasters affecting communities worldwide.

1,000 hours of impact: to build hospitality skills through service. In December 2025, 1,300 Mewsers had the opportunity to participate in their local communities through our annual EDGE Day. They practiced core skills of hospitality, like service, empathy, and creating memorable experiences, with those who need it most.

Equitable Working Practices

Caring for our people,

Hospitality faces equity challenges like pay gaps, parenthood penalties and undervalued service work. These issues exist across industries, but that doesn’t make them acceptable. As a tech company in this space, we can’t create real change while repeating the same patterns. Equity is not an add-on. It’s core to building a strong business.

Closing the gender pay gap
through pay transparency

We're implementing salary bands, building job architecture and evaluation systems, and working toward publishing salary ranges on job adverts. Pay transparency shows us whether we're actually rewarding performance fairly, or inadvertently penalising certain life patterns.

Paying ERG Ambassadors

Our Employee Resource Group (ERG) ambassadors receive equity compensation for their vital work as cultural custodians. Most companies treat this as voluntary labour, which compounds inequity. We recognise it as work that creates value.

Doubling down on inclusion

While inclusion is being reframed as optional or risky elsewhere, we're investing in it as core business strategy — through mentorship programmes spearheaded with our Women's ERG, inclusive hiring practices, and keeping equity central to our ESG approach.
