InnSeason Toy Drive supports Cape Cod families this holiday season

Table of contents

Hospitality is a uniquely human industry. That’s what makes it special. And there’s no better time to recognize this than during the season of giving.

That’s why we’re happy to share that The Cape Cod Chamber of Commerce, in collaboration with Mews, has announced the launch of the InnSeason Toy Drive. It’s a new community holiday campaign created to support local families through trusted nonprofits like the Cape Cod Family Resource Center.

Running from November 15 to December 15, the InnSeason Toy Drive invites Cape Cod’s hospitality community to come together in support of local families. By partnering with trusted nonprofits like the Cape Cod Family Resource Center, we can provide a meaningful difference during what can be the most challenging time of year for those facing financial or personal hardship.

The initiative will be formally introduced at the semiannual InnSanity event held at the Cape Cod Maritime Museum in Hyannis on November 19, 2025, at 5pm. Local bites and refreshments will be provided courtesy of Mews.

If you’re a local independent Bed & Breakfast or Inn Owner and wish to participate, why not register for the InnSanity Fall Social? It’s a great chance to connect with your community and explore one of the many ways you, your property and your team can get involved. Anything you can contribute will be gratefully received.

Ways to support the InnSeason Toy Drive

There are plenty of ways to help out if you’d like to get involved.

Donate

  • Donate new, unwrapped toys for children and teens (ages infant to 17).

  • Gift cards are appreciated for older children and teens: Target, Uber Eats, Door Dash or better yet, shop at your local Cape Cod retailers. Gift Cards can be picked up by our volunteers or brought directly to the Cape Cod Chamber Offices at 5 Patti Page Way Centerville, MA 02632.

Host a toy box

  • Hotels across the Cape can apply to host a Toy Donation Box in their lobby so that guests and neighbors alike can participate.

Run the “Stay & Play It Forward” promotion

  • Example: “Bring a toy, get 10% off your stay” – the Chamber will help amplify participating hotel promotions across Cape Cod.

 Volunteer in Person

  • Join us on December 15 for toy pick-up and sorting day. Space for this option may be limited, so reserve your chance to give back today.

Helping our neighbors is always InnSeason

The InnSeason Toy Drive was born out of a growing partnership between Mews and the Cape Cod Chamber of Commerce focused on empowering local lodging leaders. What began as a conversation has now evolved into a community-led giving campaign rooted in care, shared identity and holiday spirit.

“One of our core values at Mews is simple: be human,” said Joseph Gazarek, New England Sales Manager at Mews and co-creator of the InnSeason Toy Drive. “With the busy summer season winding down on the Cape, I found myself thinking about what it really meant to be part of this tight-knit lodging community. What could be more human than bringing our local inns and neighbors together to support families during the holidays?

“So last month, I reached out to many of the leaders in our community to help me execute this big idea. As I always say, the problem is solved by the people involved, and we’re already seeing that spirit take shape.”

Janae Mendes, Membership Manager at the Cape Cod Chamber of Commerce, added: “This campaign is about neighbors helping neighbors. When Joseph approached us, we immediately saw the opportunity to do something meaningful together – something that connected our lodging community with real impact. The energy and early response from the hotels has been incredible.”

An annual tradition in the making

The InnSeason Toy Drive is a first-of-its-kind initiative for the Cape Cod lodging community and represents a meaningful collaboration between the Cape Cod Chamber of Commerce, Mews and local hospitality leaders. We've already seen organizers raising their hands and getting ready to mobilize, setting up the groundwork to make this an annual tradition – one rooted in shared identity, giving back, and the joy of the holiday season.
