Overview
This boutique Ibiza destination combines historic character with modern technology to deliver deeply personalised guest experiences.
Located within the historic walls of Ibiza's Dalt Vila, Hotel Mirador de Dalt Vila is a 12-room luxury boutique hotel. Originally built in 1904, this former mansion features individually designed rooms adorned with green onyx, semi-precious stones and seven varieties of marble. Positioned as an intimate destination for international travellers, the hotel prioritises high-end, bespoke service. The team joined Mews to modernise its operations, ensuring that its historic heritage is supported by the efficiency and flexibility of a modern hospitality operating system.

The Challenge
Before transitioning to Mews, Hotel Mirador de Dalt Vila relied on a legacy system that made front-desk operations more cumbersome. Manual payment processing was time-consuming and prone to errors, slowing down check-in and taking focus away from the guest. Limited and inflexible reporting made it difficult for the leadership team to access the insights needed for operational and commercial decisions. As the luxury market evolved, the hotel needed technology that could support personalised service and the digital experiences that modern guests expect.
The Solution
The hotel implemented Mews PMS to centralize its operations and automate time-consuming tasks. By leveraging Mews Payments, the team automated payment processes, reducing manual errors and handling transactions more securely, giving staff more time to engage with guests rather than managing administrative tasks. Through Mews Marketplace, the hotel connected its revenue management system (RMS) to support real-time pricing decisions and integrated its point-of-sale (POS) system so restaurant charges could be posted directly to guest accounts. With Mews accessible on mobile devices, the housekeeping team now updates room status in real time, replacing outdated paper-based updates.
The Results
Since moving to Mews, the hotel has streamlined day-to-day operations and introduced a more flexible digital guest experience. With occupancy remaining high and an ADR of €450.70, the team has focused on quality of service over volume. Key outcomes include:
- Faster arrivals: Real-time housekeeping updates help the team identify available rooms faster and accommodate early check-ins where possible.
- Simpler compliance: Automatic calculation of VAT and Spanish tourist tax, alongside seamless police reporting, has reduced manual administrative work.
- Additional revenue: Digital upselling and RMS integration have supported additional revenue and spa bookings.
- Faster onboarding: Staff can become comfortable using Mews within a few days, including team members who are less familiar with technology.
