Payments and guest guarantees without headaches

Managing multiple payment types, virtual cards, deposits and VIP or comp stays created operational risks and the potential for revenue misclassification.
Solution
Sun & Ski implemented Mews Payments, allowing Expedia virtual cards to be charged on arrival rather than at confirmation. Policies were configured to clearly distinguish prepayments and cash transactions, and comp or VIP stays were properly flagged to prevent misclassification. Staff were trained on the workflows, ensuring guaranteed reservations were handled accurately and consistently, which reduced operational stress and improved confidence in revenue management.

Simplifying distribution across multiple channels
Challenge
Managing multiple OTAs with varying rate rules, seasonal policies and special offers was complex, particularly when accounting for parent/child room configurations.
Solution
Mews centralized rate and channel management for Sun & Ski, directly connecting to Booking.com and Expedia while managing Airbnb and Inntopia via SiteMinder. Rate groups were structured to accommodate base flexible rates, holiday specials, Epic Pass discounts, advance purchase offers and private vouchers. All rates, policies and restrictions are automated and pushed across all channels, removing manual tracking and ensuring consistency. Staff can monitor occupancy and revenue trends in real time, ensuring guests receive the correct rates and cancellation policies for their booking type.
