How the integration works with Mews
When a guest scans a QR code in their room or in a public area, Honesty Bar calls the Mews Connector API to identify the reservation tied to that space. The guest confirms their stay with a one-time surname check, and from that point on, every purchase they make on Honesty Bar is posted silently to their Mews bill as an order, with no further verification required for the rest of the stay.
Honesty Bar reads the property's accounting categories, services, tax configuration, and resource (room) list directly from Mews during setup, so charges land in the correct revenue buckets with the correct VAT treatment from day one. There is no separate product catalog to maintain on the Mews side and no manual posting work for the front desk.
What the guest experience looks like
Guests browse a curated, branded storefront on their own phone. They can order a bottle of wine from the in-room minibar, book a spa treatment or dining experience, request items from the public honesty bar, or pre-purchase add-ons before they arrive.
Every transaction is charged to their room in Mews in real time, so checkout stays effortless and the folio is always up to date.
What makes Honesty Bar different
Honesty Bar is built specifically for independent and boutique hospitality, not as a generic upsell tool bolted onto a PMS. The platform combines four revenue streams (in-room bars, public honesty bars, experiences, and pre-arrival) under a single guest-facing interface and a single Mews posting flow, removing the operational overhead of running separate tools for each.
Guests browse in their own language: the storefront detects their device automatically and is fully available in English, Spanish, French, German and Italian, with further languages added on request. Guest payments are processed in the property's own local currency, with support for more than 25 currencies across Europe, the Americas, Asia Pacific, the Middle East and Africa.
There are no setup fees and no card is required for the 21-day free trial. After the trial, a subscription and a 2% platform fee apply. There is no long-term commitment: plans renew monthly by default, with a discounted annual option available.
The integration is fully self-serve. Properties connect Mews from inside Honesty Bar in a few minutes using a Connector API token, map their outlets to Mews services and accounting categories, and go live the same day.
