About Weekender Hotels
Founded in 2021 by entrepreneur Keir Weimer, Weekender Hotels operates a fast-growing collection of boutique roadside motels and adventure-driven resorts across the northeastern United States. Their vision is ambitious: build a portfolio of adventure-driven destinations across the United States while keeping operations simple, scalable and guest-centric. To support that growth, Weekender Hotels moved from Cloudbeds to Mews. The switch gave the team stronger reporting, a scalable platform and the automation needed to run many of their hotels with little or no traditional front desk.
Today, Mews sits at the centre of Weekender’s operations, connecting rooms, payments, guest communications and integrations into a single platform that supports both rapid expansion and a modern, digital-first guest journey.
“There’s never a perfect moment to change your PMS. But if Mews is on your radar, take the leap, you won’t regret it.”

Moving beyond Cloudbeds to a more flexible platform
When Weekender began expanding its portfolio, their previous PMS struggled to support the needs of a growing multi-property operator. Reporting was a particular pain point. Leadership wanted to analyze performance across properties, segment group business and build reliable forecasts, but extracting the right data proved difficult.
At the same time, Weekender was shifting toward a more sophisticated operational model. Even though many of its properties are small roadside motels, the company wanted to operate with the same level of control and insight as a larger resort group. That led them to Mews, a cloud-native operating system designed for multi-property operations. Mews provides centralized reporting, automation and an open ecosystem of integrations that connect key systems across the portfolio. The team now runs rooms, groups, payments and analytics through Mews while integrating with tools like Revinate and iHotelier. The result is a unified operational backbone that gives leadership the data visibility they lacked previously while allowing properties to run independently.
“The support we get from Mews is outstanding. Even their CTO took the time for a 1:1 to hear our feedback. That kind of attention speaks volumes.”

Better reporting and data-driven decisions
Challenge
The team struggled to generate the operational insights needed to guide decision-making across the portfolio. Forecasting demand, analyzing production reports and understanding guest demographics required manual work and often produced incomplete results.
Solution
With Mews reporting and dashboards, managers can quickly access key operational data across all properties. Reports generate quickly and can be filtered to analyze specific properties, time periods or metrics. Managers use these insights to plan staffing, forecast food and beverage demand, and monitor key performance indicators like ADR. Guest data stored in Mews also feeds into marketing strategies, helping the team run targeted campaigns based on location and demographics.
Result
- Faster access to operational insights
- Better forecasting and planning
- Improved targeting for marketing campaigns
“Reporting was the driving force behind the switch. Mews checked all the boxes and brought everyone onto one unified system.”

Multi-property management without operational complexity
Challenge
With properties spread across several states and managers often overseeing multiple locations, Weekender needed a way to manage operations without constantly switching systems or duplicating work. Visibility across the portfolio was also critical for leadership teams monitoring performance and planning future expansion.
Solution
With Mews Multi-Property, managers can oversee all locations from a single dashboard. The platform provides quick access to occupancy levels, operational reports and performance metrics across properties. Managers can easily switch between locations while maintaining consistent configurations and standards. As Weekender continues to expand, the ability to replicate setups and reporting structures makes onboarding new properties significantly faster.
Result
- Centralized oversight across all properties
- Faster onboarding of newly acquired hotels
- Consistent configurations across the portfolio
“All our data sits in Mews. Whenever we want to understand our guests, that’s the first place we go.”

Automation powers a front-desk-light guest journey
Challenge
Weekender runs many of its hotels with limited front desk presence. Guests typically arrive, access their room and manage their stay digitally. To make this model work smoothly, the team needed technology that could automate key steps in the guest journey without staff involvement.
Solution
Mews automates much of the guest journey, reducing manual tasks for hotel teams. After booking, guests receive automated communications prompting them to complete registration and securely provide payment details before arrival. Once those steps are complete, integrations like Akia and Goki handle the rest of the process, including room assignment and digital key delivery. Automation rules also handle operational tasks like deposit collection, payment reminders and scheduled reporting, freeing up managers to focus on other aspects of the business.
Result
- 40+ hours saved per week through automation
- Reduced administrative workload for managers
- A smooth guest arrival experience without front desk interaction

Embedded payments simplify financial workflows
Challenge
Managing deposits, incidentals and third-party payments across multiple properties can quickly create administrative complexity. Manual check-out processes and payment reminders also added unnecessary workload for hotel teams.
Solution
With Mews Payments, Weekender centralized payment processing directly inside the PMS. The team uses digital payment requests to collect payments for amenities, incidentals and third-party bookings. Automated reminders ensure deposits are captured on time, while batch check-out functionality allows staff to settle multiple reservations instantly. This streamlined payment flow reduces admin and helps properties operate efficiently without relying on traditional front desk processes.
Result
- Faster check-out processes
- Automated deposit and payment collection
- Reduced administrative workload

Integration spotlight
Akia
Akia supports guest communication and mobile registration across Weekender’s portfolio. After booking, guests receive automated SMS messages prompting them to complete registration, provide payment details and select add-ons such as early check-in or room amenities. The platform also allows Weekender to share property information, promote local experiences and collect mid-stay feedback, helping the team maintain strong communication even without a traditional front desk.
Goki
Goki enables keyless entry across many Weekender properties. Once a guest completes their digital check-in, the integration automatically sends their room access code via SMS. This system removes the need for physical keys or staffed check-in desks, allowing Weekender to deliver a seamless arrival experience while maintaining its front-desk-light operating model.
